Hello team,
I have a question related to Top-Down Distribution in S/4HANA.
In case that a Top-Down Distribution is executed on a monthly basis in order to enrich analytical information from COPA, a big amount of journal entries will be generated (Hypothetically let's say around 200.000 entries coming only from TDD as month-end closing activities)
Is it possible/advised to use a ledger (parallel or extension) in order to capture Top-Down Distribution values/documents?
I've noticed that (on S/4HANA Cloud) there is the option to select on which ledger to we want to run the TDD, using the manage allocation Fiori App.
In case that is not possible or advised to capture postings in other ledger different than the main ledger, could you please provide a possible work-around?
Many thanks in advance
Hello,
When you are creating the cycle, you can specify "Flexible Ledger" option as processing indicator which allows you to post to a different ledger/ledgers when you execute the cycle.
Top-Down Distribution Cycle Header | SAP Help Portal
For example, you can run the cycle via Run Allocations app or scheduled job and choose a different ledger as the run ledger. In that case, the rules and characteristics which are defined in the cycle are used but the allocation is performed in the different ledger.
Please see link about Flexible ledger functionality:

I hope it helps.
Regards,
Yanica
