To relate data in RPSCO & PRPS table

Hi,

For BI reports I need to take data from PRPS & RPSCO table. There is a function module created to bring data to BI system.

Now my problem is to capture modified records (new recs, changed recs and deleted recs)

I have following doubts about these tables, Please provide your inputs..

1. In PRPS, OBJNR is a unique value will not be repeated - Is it correct

2. In RPSCO table, OBJNR values are repeating based on other key fields.

If there is a change in WBS element AEDAT field in PRPS is getting updated.

In RPSCO, for a object number if revenue or cost any amount is updated..will it reflect in AEDAT of PRPS?

Thanks in advance,

Priya.D

Thanks all for valuable suggestions!

It is required to capture actual & planned revenue. So am tring to use RPSCO table.

Below is the logic to get planned & actual rev,

Plan revenue : Value Type - 1

Version 110 (ignores past months when calculation runs),

Value Category Rev-EXT

Actual revenue: Value Type - 1

Version 0 ,

Category CLRV

Project Margin: Direct Margin - (Commission + Tax)

Value Category - COS-COMM & COS-WH_TAX to capture commission & Tax.

I checked COSB, COEP tables, I couldn't find value category in those tables.

Is there any other table I could use to get above details?

Please advice,

Actual revenue: Value Type - 1

Value Type should be 4 for actuals.

Hi

You can find value category field (ABKAT) in COSB filed. The value category CLRV is for calculated revenue form RA.

Are you looking for Incoming order vlaue new (IONO) or Incoming order - changed orders values (IOCO).

If it were me, I wouldn't try this approach. RPSCO is already highly summarized so it's value to BI is negligible. I'd extract the PS line items directly and then summarize using my own logic and customer requirements.

Hi,

Adding on to the other comments; RPSCO stores the revenue / cost values with respect period structure. So if there is any update made for one period, at the table level it just overwrites the previous (exicting) value.

No, AEDAT in PRPS is effected if you change anything in WBSE as PRPS is a master data related table, for Cost / Revenue changes it will be updated in CO tables.

Hi Gokul,

Thanks for reply.

Am not familiar with PS transaction codes. Am trying to understand PS functional flow. I have no idea where to change cost or revenue for a WBS element. Help me with 2nd question.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

1. In PRPS, OBJNR is a unique value will not be repeated - Is it correct

Yes its correct. OBJNR is a unique value derived by the system for the repective objects. e.g. for WBS the objnr will ahve a prefix as PR, for project definition it will be PD, for activities it will be NV and so on and so forth.

In RPSCO, for a object number if revenue or cost any amount is updated..will it reflect in AEDAT of PRPS?

You can try this and check for yourself.

Gokul
