The downtime of a machine following a given production order which usually involves removing parts such as jigs and fixtures and which must be completely finished before setting up for the next order.

For understnading in short this can be taken as a reverse of set up time.

tear down time is oppposite ot setup time..Once you setup you start machining..agter machining to remove the object from m/c, it will take some time..this is called teardown time.

actually this is a tea manufacturing company. they have defined production time and teardown time as 1 HR in rate routing. so for product costing is teardown time mandatory? because they are not ready to give me the cost for tear down time.

its repetetive manufacturing scenario.

Hi

This Tear Down Value is Entered during Routing and U can make this Field not Mandatory by making the following Setting

1.) Go To Work Center-- Basic Data Tab Page

2.) Select " No Checking" in the drop Down Menu Against the Labour Field
