Hi gurus,
My client is using serialized material for automatic creation of EMR upon goods receipt. Some of these equipment are also pertinent to accounting as such the PO line is referenced to both a serialized material (MMR) and AMR.
Once the goods receipt is done both EMR and AMR are created however they are not linked together automatically. The link between asset and equipment has to be done manually either through AS02 or IE02.
Have you come to similar problem and is there solution to link the asset and equipment automatically upon goods receipt.

You can try with synchronization of data
Create Equipment Record when Creating Asset
Specifies whether the system automatically creates an equipment master record when an asset master record is created.
Use
The possible settings are:
No synchronization
When the asset is created, the system does not automatically create an equipment master record. However, you can create an equipment master record manually.
Direct synchronization after saving
When an asset master record is created, the system automatically enters an equipment in the asset master record. Asset master data (such as company code) is copied to the equipment master record.

While doing MIGO, synchoronisation between Asset & Equipment is not possible.
1. Synchoronisation is happening with reference to Asset class, Equipment category & Object Type. But in MIGO, we are not mentioning Object Type. So it will not create the Asset even though Equipment has been created automatically.
2. Even after Equipment creation, if you assign the Object type in Equipment master, its not possible to create any asset as changes will enable you to do the changes only in existing assigned Asset Master.
So it should be done either manually. It can be done by BDC at the initial stage. But over the period, it can be done manually as Master creation will not bulk after system stabilization.

As per SAP help you can either create equipment master record automatically while creating Asset master record and vice versa.

Conversely you can also define that an asset is automatically created when a piece of equipment is created, and that the asset master record is automatically changed when the equipment master record is changed
Also refer the note 370884
hence while doing the Goods receipt system will trigger the equipment master based on serial no profile which in turn triggers the asset master data

The issue is not all the equipment should have an asset in AA because of the company's capitalization threshold and other accounting policies so automatic creation of asset from equipment is out of question. That's why both MMR and AMR need to be used in PO and GR. I guess we just have to link the EMR and AMR manually.
