Strategy group is blank

Dear expert,

I have sales order, after run mrp that sales order not generated Planned order

after i check that material strategy group is blank.

procurement type X, mrp type PD

Can I still use the sales order if I add a strategy group to the material?

or do I have to create a sales order?

Please add strategy group and run the MRP again subject to other settings in place, the planned order should be generated.
