The Strategy group is used to group various strategies and make a Material to behave for different strategies like Make to stock and Make to Order etc flexibly

A stragety has contains the following setting in SPRO

1) Reqyirement Type of Independent Requirement- Req Type and Req Class

2) Requirement Type of Customer Requirement- Req Type and Requirement Class

A strategy group has option of multiple strategies in img

So if you allocate multiple strategies into one strategy group, the material will behave for the first strategy as default as Taj answered, and in Sales Order details screen you change the Requirement Type and the Material will behave for that strategy you assigned

You can use MRP group also for combaining the strategy, because strategy group is one of the control parameter in MRP Group

planning strategy 10

make to stock (mts) production

this planning strategy is planning and get to start the production with the PIR planned independed requir...with out consideration of the sales order.

with the planned order the pr and production order are raised and get started to production.

ex: in the car manufacuting company uses the all the three strategies.

if in LG CELL COMPANY, THEY HAVE SOME MODELS ,SO THEY JUST

USES THE PLANNING STRATEGY 10 (ie) MAKE TO STOCK FOR THE USUAL MODEL MOBILE

IN THE MAKE TO ORDER. SOME OF THE COMPANY LIKE RELIENCE SEEKING SOME MODEL WITH THE ITS REQIURMENTS .

11 Make-to-stock prod./gross reqmts plnning

SAME TO THE 10. MAKE TO STOCK WITH PIR.BUT THE STOCK IS NOT CONSIDER IN ACCOUNT

EX : IN CEMENT AND STEEL INDUSTRIES , THEY NOT CONSIDER THE STOCK. THEY CONSIDER THE GOOD ISSUED TO THE PIRS AND ACCOUNT IT

20 MAKE TO ORDER :

WITH RESPECT TO THE SALES ORDER THE PIR CREATED AND CONVERT TO THE PROD ORDER.

WITH THE ORDER , TH PRAND IN HOUSE PROD IS CREATED WITH MRP RUN

EX: CUSTOMER SPECIFY ORDER IS TAKEN TO ACCOUNT.

IN THE SYSTEM MANUFACTURING COMPANY, THE MOUSE IS THE STOCK PRODUCTION, BUT SOME MOUSES ARE MADETO THE CUSTOMER SPECIFIC.

Hi,

You can group the strategies about 1 main & 7 others. So it is called as a strategy group.

While creating PIR u have to assign requirement type of particular strategy u have to use as per requirement. Assign requirement type of startegy in MD61 first screen in setting. Then during MRP run system will act as per selected requirement type i.e. it will select that particular strategy from that group. It is not suitable for strategy 20 because it is purely MTO.

Pl. check & revert.

You can group these strategies into strategy group. But by default first strategy will be picked up.

10 is MTS with net requirements calculation. You start production with PIRs much before actual sales orders and carry out complete production process. Sales orders only for information purpose.

11 is also MTS with gross requirements calculation. the diffrence of 10 and 11 is plant stock will not taken into acount with 11...where in 10 this is accountable.

20 is MTO works purely against the sales orders means production trigger only when you get the sales orders.

if any question then let me know.
