Hello Experts,
Structure: 6 storage locations of different sizes, each containing a box of the same size.
These locations are all available several times.
The filling quantity of the boxes varies depending on the material (upper limit of filling quantity determined empirically).
Mixing with other materials is not desired.
An addition of the same materials up to the max. quantity is desired.
Example: goods receipt 300 pcs. of screws
In the Material master record at sight LVS2 3 boxes/ LET are stored, LET1= 200 pcs, LET2=100 LET3=50 pcs
At the GR a TO is created with 2 positions, 1x200 on LET1 & 1x 100 pcs on LET2.
But... The result in the TO: The storage bin K1 with LET1 is filled with 300pcs. - 100 pcs. above the maximum
So: Neither the capacity check nor the finding of the correct 2nd storage bin fails (the LET occupies 1 unit, the storage bin has capacity 1, therefore only one LET per bin)
Storage type Putaway strategy L, LET check activated, capacity check activated, check method 3 & 4,
Storage bin type, storage unit type defined and assigned
Putaway strategy P also tried, but fails due to the length of the storage bin designation (max. 10 characters incl. /01 etc.)
No error messages, but the system ignores the limits and simply adds stock (which is what the strategy specifies) SU management is not activated for the storage type.
Does anyone know how to map the desired scenario?
Greetings,
Roy

Hello @Roy08
Have a look at the note 392776 - Capacity check in the Warehouse Management
You have not provided enough details on your setup e.g. if you use batch management, storage unit management, what your capacity check settings are...
If all standard options fail, you can build your own placement strategy with SMOD enhancement MWMTO003.
