Stock Counting - Multiple warehouses for each item

We have various items in stock. Each item is in a single warehouse e.g. either tyres or truck spares or trailer spares or ppe or lashing, etc.

When we select items in the stock counting form, each item is listed 18 times (because we have 18 warehouses). It will list the correct quantity for the actual warehouse the item is in, and zero for all other warehouses.

We cannot use the 'Exclude items with zero quantity' checkbox, because an item might actually be in the right warehouse and its quantity is zero in the system, but its physical quantity might be one, and so we would need to adjust it.

The idea is to show all the available items in database for a particular warehouse,  take a print out for inventory counting document,  then go on physically count all the items and write on the printed document.  Then proceed with the next screen Inventory posting with the counted quantities in the previous step which will post both excess and shortage of the items to the particular warehouse.

We understand the process. Thanks for the reply.

However, each item should only be in one warehouse. Tyres will only be the tyres warehouse, for example. However, when we run the stock counting, it will repeat each item for the number of warehouses we have.

If we have a total of 100 items in our company, spread across 10 warehouses, when we add these 100 items to the stock counting form, 1000 entries will be in the form. It will list each item 10 times, for each warehouse.

That shouldn't be the case.

Hi,

its better to import the item code from the excel, so in the  excel you have to filter the items based on the availability of stock in the warehouse and you can import it.

In stock counting form select  Add Items then select Import

import from excel window will appear in that form select the data template and upload the excel file.

NOTE: Excel should be in text tab delimited format

if the data is already in the system and if you dont want the item is to be displayed only in a particular warehouse,  then you should go to Item Master data inventory tab,  here you will find all the warehouses attached to the item by default at the time when you create the item.

Here select the row of the warehouse which you dont want right click and remove the row.  for this there should not be any quantity for this item in this warehouse,  that is only the limitation.

now go to inventory counting and see if the warehouse repeated.

Thanks for the reply. We have around 2000 items and 28 warehouses. Removing 27 warehouses in each item's master data form would take a very long time! Any tips on getting this done quicker?

Thanks
