Standard components used as a PRT

Dear all,

Can you please help me with the following case.

I do have a production level at which I use one of the raw materials or subassemblies as PRT. Meaning that I "borrow" a part from the warehouse (staging process is expected like for standard component) but I don't consume it. I use it for some fitting purpose and then I return it to the warehouse. Later this component is issued at a different production order.

Solution 1: Use Material PRT - drawback: no staging process possible
Solution 2: Use it as standard components - drawback: system will expect consumption

Do you see any other solution?

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I would suggest solution 2 with some tweaking..

you can add 2 item lines in bom with fixed qty ticked as 1 pc, one line as postive (1) the other line as negative (-1) and remove costing relevancy from both, by this you can GI the component and GR it from the same production order

please get back for further clarifications

Thank you for your reply.

Won't that cause any FICO issue? Since we do the GR of a valuated material (due to this (-1)) we also introduce by-product here.
Won't the general costing (e.g.) cost allocation be affected by this?

that is why you need to remove costing relevancy indicator from your line item, the system will not take this line into consideration if the costing relevancy indicator is 0%
