Hi Sandip,

Minimum remaining shelf life

Minimum amount of time for which the material must keep upon goods receipt for the goods receipt to be accepted by the system

Total shelf life

Period for which the material will keep in total, that is, from the date of production to the shelf life expiration date.

You didnt close issue you have raised before and you didnt reward also

Thanks

Hi

Example

you have material X

This will be mixed to material Y to make a finished product.

assume you receive the material X (GR) today and this material must be used for mixing within 4 days then you must maintain min rem shelf life as 4 days.

Total shelf life is. assuming you have the finished product and it should be used with in 3 months after production. then this is total shelf life.(production date to till the expiry)

Dear Sandeep,

Minimum shelf life means the minimum period of shelf life that should be available for use after goods receipt.

For eg. if a material is procured from a vendor its production date is 06/2006 & shelf life period is 24 months & minimum shelf life is 20 months.

When you try to carry out GR in 07/2007 and enter the production date 06/2006 system will calculate expiry as 08/2007 so the available period for the use of this material is 13 months which is less than you minimum shelf life & so system will not allow the GR.

I hope this clear your doubt

why system wil calculate expiry date as 08/2007 ?

As material is produced on 06/2006 and haVE SHELF LIFE PERIOD OF 24 MONTHS,system should calculate the expiry date as 06/2008.

am i right?

Hi Sandip,

Min remaining shelf life

Minimum amount of time for which the material must keep upon goods receipt for the goods receipt to be accepted by the system.

Dependencies

The period (day, week, month, year) depends on the entry in the Period indicator field.

Total shelf life

Period for which the material will keep in total, that is, from the date of production to the shelf life expiration date.
