Setup EAN with leading zero contains 14 digits

Hello,

EAN number should be with a leading zero with length 14 digits for EAN Category IC. I have setup external number range and maintained EAN number length as 14. While trying to maintain EAN number for EAN category IC in unit of measure of material master, it converts to EAN category HE automatically.

Challenge here is barcode scanner scans EAN number correctly with a leading zero in length 14 digits but SAP accepts EAN number without leading zero.

Could you please advise / suggest how to resolve this issue.

Hello,

I have changed check digit algorithm 4 with EAN category IC, later i have tested in material master EAN number(with 14 digits) accepted beginning zero for EAN category IC and changes saved.

What are implications of applying check digit 4 with IC ?, Kindly advise if i can use check digit algorithm 4 with IC if not what are config setting need to be done for material master to accept EAN number beginning with zero. FYI, i have set EAN length as 14, number range is marked external.

Hi

Recheck your customizing in transaction W4ES. Make sure the same number range is not assigned to 2 different EAN categories which have different EAN lengths defined.

The SAP Note 879460 provides excellent reports which can be used to identify incorrect customizing for EANs.
