Set Migration date and Process Control

Former Member

Dear All,

I would like to set the process control to avoid, that any postings will not be created before migration date.

I have set the migration date on 30.9.2017 and the system created the process control record for migration automatically.

Now I want to set the block for all postings that occurs before 30.9.2017, but the system shows error message, that from posting date cannot be earlier than initial migration date.

Can anybody explain me, what I did wrong? I have found the documentation to this topic (Migration of Financial Accounting Data – Set Process Control) and I processed according to it, but I dont have desired result.

Thank you for help in advance.

Regards,

Marian

Hi Marian,

The dates set are very likely to be before the "Posting Date for Initial Migration".

You may check this via General Ledger -> Companies view.

In this view you have "Posting Date for Migration" and "Posting Date for Initial Migration".

The "Posting Date for Migration" is the date used by the migration tool to post items coming from migration process.

The "Posting Date for Initial Migration" is a "cut-off" date, where no journal entries are expected to exist in the system before this date. Only after. Therefore, the error is raised whenever you try to create something before the initial migration date.

Obs:

"Posting Date for Migration" can be changed via Actions -> Set Posting Date for Migration to accommodate the migration requirements.

"Posting Date for Initial Migration" can only be set once via frontend. If this date needs to be changed, it can be done via backend only as long as no postings exist before the new date.

Regards,

Alexandre.
