Hi SAP Gurus,

in our office, Exchange Rate is updated manually.,

Does any one have any idea regarding automatic update of exchange rate in system..? i.e, rate should be automatically updated in system when exchange rate is changed..

i appreciate your help..

Hi,

B1up is doing the job. (Starting 5.0 the update can be done directly from the database server).

Hi Kavi,

From my point of view there is no direct solution with SAPB1. You can build your own solution but it can takes some effort to build it.

If you want to built your own solution, the idea is as follow:

1) Build an add-on

2) After connection to the DI check if the exchange rate is updated

3) If not connect to a web ressource where you could retrieve the exchange rate. In Europe we use

http://www.ecb.int/stats/exchange/eurofxref/html/index.en.html where there are exemple to retrieve the rate.

4) To update the exchange rate use:

Public Sub SetCurrencyRate( _

   ByVal Currency As String, _

   ByVal Date As Date, _

   ByVal Value As Double, _

Optional ByVal Update As Boolean = False _

)

Hi Kavi,

A small comment on Christophe's solution: in his step 2 he says to connect to the DI and then check for changed exchange rates.

I would recommend to check for changed exchange rates first, and then only if necessary, connect to the DI.

Each connection to the B1 system / database will strain the system, however minimally.
