Search String in EBS

Hi All,

In Electronic Bank Statement how the search string is used.

After defining it should it be assigned to any posting rule or should it be called in an user exit relevant for EBS?

Please explain.

After you create a search string, you assign it in the search string usage. You can assign it for all company codes and bank accounts by leaving Co.Cd., house bank and acct ID blank. Or you can assign it for a particular Co.Cd., house bank and account ID. In addition, in the search string usage, you assign the target field. The target field is where the mapped value from the search string is stored during the EBS processing.

Once you have the search string usage set up, when you load an EBS file (for example, via FF.5), the search string will be called automatically as a part of that processing. If the search string value is found in the note to payee of a transaction, then the mapped value is saved to the target field for that transaction.
