Dear All

Within On-Prem and SAP Rise, we have a Inter Company scenario where Purchase Order is created by one Company Code and auto Sale Order is created within another Company Code using IDOCs.

Please confirm, how the above process can be achieved i.e. auto creation of Sales Order against a Purchase Order. Do we still have IDocs concept in Public Cloud.

Hi ,

For the intercompany scenario where a Purchase Order (PO) is created in one Company Code and an automatic Sales Order (SO) is generated in another, you can definitely use IDocs to make this happen, even in the public cloud.

Here’s a simple way to approach it:

  1. Set Up IDocs: First, make sure you have the right IDoc types set up for both Purchase Orders and Sales Orders. You’ll need to define the message types that will be used.

  2. Partner Profiles: You need to configure partner profiles for both Company Codes. This includes setting up the logical systems and ensuring the right message types are in place.

  3. Trigger IDocs: When a Purchase Order is created, it should automatically trigger an IDoc to send the necessary information to the other Company Code. This can be set up through output determination or some custom enhancements.

  4. Processing IDocs: On the receiving end, make sure the system is ready to process incoming IDocs and create the Sales Order as needed. You might have to customize how the incoming data is handled.

As for IDocs in the public cloud, SAP still supports them in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, especially for hybrid setups. Just keep in mind that some things might be a bit different compared to on-premise systems. It could also be worth looking into other integration options, like APIs, depending on what you need.

If you have any specific questions or need help with this, feel free to ask!

Hello @Tasneem-S

Thank you for your prompt response. However, I recently read a blog that mentioned that in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition, only a limited number of IDocs are available, primarily those related to master data. Transactional IDocs are no longer available in the cloud version, as they have been replaced with SOAP services

Please provide your more inputs If you have.

Best Regards
