Hello Gurus,
I am considerably new to the lockbox functionality and wanted to know the following:
1. Difference between tcodes FLBP and FLB2. When is the former used Vs. the latter.
2. If insert bank details option is used, does it add the bank details to the customer master OR it replaces it.
3. How does the system recognize the correct customer number if the same customer is extended to multiple company codes ?
More to come 🙂
Thanks,
SC
Hi Sia,
Below are the inputs from my side:
1. FLB2 is standard transaction code to process the lock-box file in SAP. You can't execute this t-code unless you have lock-box file for processing.
On the other hand, transaction FLBP is linked with displaying the status of lock-box file process through FLB2. So, in FLBP, apart from other inputs, you also specify the "Statement date". This is the date when the file was processed through FLB2.
2. Insert bank details option (t-code OBAY) is normally used when the bank details are missing for the customer and then it would add the details of the bank to the customer master data from the lockbox file. As per my understanding, it bank details are already in customer master and we use this option, then the existing details will get overwritten with new details in customer master.
3. The system recognize the correct customer number based on Destination and Origin details which are maintained at company code level through t-code OBAX. When the lockbox file comes to SAP, destination and origin details are also contained in it, which helps to identify customer under a company code.
Let me know in case of any issue.
Regards,
Gaurav
