Dear Experts,
we are a German company and want to implement SAP B1 in the Singapore subsidiary. We would like to use localization UK, because we are using it in many other countries, too, and we are very familiar with it.
1. Is this possible, or is there missing any indispensable Singapore-functionality in the UK-localisation?
2. Could anyone please provide us with a comparison between the SG-and UK-localization?
Thank you so much!
Regards, Anne
PS: we will implement Version 9.3 or 10.0

Currently, the UK localization can work for SG localization? But in future it may not be the case.
Since you are already familiiar with B1, you should stick to SG localization, as it is comparatively simpler than UK localization.
Thanks.

Hello Anne,
SAP provides localizations to match country specific legal requirements (taxation, accounting, reporting, intergations etc.). Even if UK localization might work at the moment (which I don't know) you will always have the present risk of upcoming legal changes which you might not be able to fulfill. We are "familiar" with the localization and an analysis based on the current situation are no valid arguments in my opinion for countries where an official localization is available.
To compare the localizations you can request a demodatabase from your partner or have a look in SAP B1 help, there are meanwhile separate sections for localization specifics or analyze it with a SAP partner in singapore or who has experience with legal topics in Singapore.
Please note that there will also be the split of UK localizations for Brexit requirements.
