Sales order to consume inventory

We want sales order to consume inventory if it is available and create planned order in case of inventory shortfall for delta quantity.

Please let me know what settings should I maintain.

Is that make to order or make to stock scenario?

You need to identify the scenario how MRP wants to treat the materials, is it make to order or make to stock.

it's is MTO scenario.

[Amish1]

Check the following settings:

1. MRP Type: PD

2. Lot size: EX

3. Strategy group: 20 (MTO)

4. Availability check: 02 (Individual requirement)

Then run MRP for the material.
