Hi,

Iam trying to use the movement type 161 in WM. When i do the GR with reference to the P.O, iam getting an error that storage bin doesnot exist. I have maintained the source storage bin XXX for the interim storage type 902 for the movement type 161. To the best of my knowledge i have checked all the entries and could not figure it out.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi

If I understand your question correctly you are doing the GR in WM?

The GR is done in Transaction MIGO and then the TR will be created in WM to create the Transfer Order and pick the stock. The bin (PO number) will be created automatically when you save the transaction.

The steps are MIGO GR for PO

This will remove the stock from IM and create a minus figure in WM in st type 902 and the st bin will be the PO number. When you create the TO from the TR the system will automatically send the stock to 902 and therefore remove the minus.

I hope that this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Iam aware of these things, but the issue is for the movement type 161 system is throwing an error saying that storage bin xxx is not found. Storage bin mentioned by the system for the error message is the warehouse number and not the P.O no. My doubt is whether we can use the interim storage type 902 for the movement type 161.

In this case I am confused

If you have a return PO (I assume that you have the RE box ticked on the PO) and you carry out transaction MIGO with the heading Goods Receipt > Purchase Order then the system should automatically create a minus in 902 in WM with the bin as the PO number and also create a TR. This can then be processed in to a TO.

In transaction OMLR which is WM interface to Inventory management check your setting for movement 161.

It should be as follows

WHS Ref M Movement TR

GAO 161 B 102 X

Although IM is carrying out movement 161 in WM it is a 102 (reversal of goods receipt) movement 102 is set to st type 902 and the st bin is dynamic.

If you do not have this copy the SAP standard

sudhakar,

Confused and not able to understand your question. If you are doing GR, in the movement type you would need the destination and not the source storage bin , if you were doing stock removal ( GI) you would need source storage bin ( which you have defined), but in your case you have it for a GR

Apologize since im not clear.

If you can give some more details will be helpful.

thanks

Hi Abhijit,

In the movement type we have to define the source storage type and bin which is the interim storage 902 in case of 101. If it is a dynamic storage bin we don't need to maintainthe bin. This is the standard setting which normally don't change. The issue is it is working for all the movement types other than 161. Also not sure whether we need to use the interim storage type 902 for 161 movement type.

Hope the issue is clear now.
