Dear SAP/Experts,

We have oppotunity to implement S/4 HANA cloud (Public edition) in retail industory next year.

As I checekd below SAP road map viewer, it mentioned to expand additional coutries.

Please provide us the list of countres. Our customer located in Thailand.

Retail merchandise management – merchandise distribution, native in-store apps, and more

They need to use IS-Retail functions. (Such as , POS integration, Store management, inventory distribution to store)

Hello kyamada . Retail Content Localization for Thailand is not in current scope. Thailand Retail Localization may have specific need which is not included for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition.

Please provide more details on the scope for Retail implementation for Thailand , This will help us understand the scope and potential evaluation to help you with the localization requirement. Currently SAP have vision through central business configuration (CBC) based approach to support cross country localization which is not yet available. There may be specific Localization need in Thailand like Tax requirement, Supplier configuration, terminology so please also provide us, these specific details so we can evaluate further.

You can also review Note 3313681 - SAP Accelerator: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Retail, Fashion and Vertical Business Set Up Instructions which are in early-adoption phase and wish to activate retail solution in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system.

In addition Configuration Localization Toolkit (CLT) can ONLY be used for countries which are not yet localized at all, see refer note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/3107866, and hence it is not possible to use it for the delta localization of individual scope items.

While Localization for Thailand is awaited to be available, In the meantime, one of the option could be to have the project prepared in a starter system based on a different localization, e.g. thailand, and would need to be manually re-done after localization is available (This will help you prepare and understand the processes and master data will be defined and prepared in starter system)

Thank you for quick answer.

May I confirm 2 points ?

#1. About retail using in Thailand, this is early-adoption phase.

We can request to apply retail for coutnry thailand to SAP support into partner tenant environment to verify with customer business and localization functionality.

Is that correct understanding ? If so we will request to apply and start verification the process in partner tenant.

We can apply retail in thailand coutry (#1) but after sap completed localization(Future : verified SAP internally and released) for retail function in thailand,

we must re-do localization activities such as configuration etc.

#1. About retail using in Thailand, this is early-adoption phase.

Thailand is not available in current scope for localization content for Retail. Hence it is not possible to apply retail for thailand via SAP support. Partner can scope any country out of Norway, Germany, USA, Poland, Slovakia & Czechia to check business processes for fit-to-standard process.

Please reach out to your SAP Accounts team and we will be able to evaluate your scope and feasibility further for future. Can you give more details on the customer based out of thailand.

My response : Retail Localization for additional countries is envisioned using central business configuration (CBC) based approach to support cross country localization which is not yet available. Thailand Retail Localization content is not yet planned in future roadmap, as this is dependent on technical feasibility with new localization approach.

Hence the the option to have the project prepared in a starter system based on different localization is generic and does not apply specifically to thailand
