Reservation for Phantom item

Hello,

We have a phantom item in a BOM. Material reservations are created for this article upon creating a production order.  Unless the production order is technically closed, reservations remain in the MD04. Is there a possibility to clear it along with all open reservations (eg. during operation confirmation)?

Hi,

If phantom item is in BOM , then system generate the dependent requirement for that component. To clear the reservation there are two option

1) By TECO production order.

2) While confirmation for operation  number (C011n/co15) select option Clear reservation instead of open reservation.

All of your responses are the same.

1) By TECO production order:

     Most of our production orders stay active for some weeks even sometimes months before technical closure. So all this time are showing reseravations.

2) Clear reservation:

     I have again made a test by checking the "clear reservation", I still have the reservation in MD04.

Hi Yohannes,

It is surprising that the reservations for a Phantom material in a production order are showing up in MD04.

Can you check and reconfirm the following entries -

a) Material master - MRP2 view : Procurement type = E & Special Procurement type = 50

b) Production Order BOM (and even the Material BOM) shows the phantom indicator ticked against this particular material number

c) Double-click the Order BOM item --> Component overview --> General data tab --> General Indicators window --> check if the 'Phantom Item tick' is seen, and 'Movement allowed' is not ticked

d) Valid BOM is available for the Phantom material (By defnition, we can only have 'Phantom Assemblies' and not just 'Phantom item without a BOM' --> so that the system can explode the BOM for the phantom item and fetch the actual component under them for posting the goods issue)

If all these entries are correct, but still you see reservations in MD04,... can you please share the screen shots of all these entries, along with the MD04 screenshot?

Hi Yohannes,

Can you check the following as well...

a) Do you see the reservations created for Newly created(now) orders, or only Older orders - in MD04? Can you check with a new order now?

b) If only older orders/reservations are seen, Is the Phantom indicator (SPK=50) entry in Material master added recently - check change logs...

c) If the phantom indicator has been added recently (after the referred orders got created),... and if you need to get those reservations also not to show up,... use 'Read PP master data' option to refresh the master data.

Hi,

Please check if backflush indicator is set for the components of phantom assembly, if not set the indicator and process goods movements and check.

Let me know your findings. seems to be some problem.

Let me know if you can maintain Mixed MRP indicator to 3 in material master(for phantom assembly) and then do the planning.

Reservation can be deleted by

1. Putting TECO on production order

2. While confirmation check clear reservation

Reservation will get clear once you set TECO or confirm this order with clear reservation indicator, before that you can not have option.
