REM to Discrete

Hi,

Currently we use REM scenario for certain products.

We need to move from REM to Discrete for some specific material.

Can anyone of you list what are the specific checks to be carried out apart from Master Data change ?

Hi Taj,

You are right, but the planned order can be changed by checking the Conversion indicator and then we could create the production order. Yes if you want to totally avoid using REM then you could remove the REM allowed indicator.

I am just saying that we could go ahead with REM and discrete simutaneously.

Valavan,

You do not actually require to de-activate any settings which were there for REM. By creating an discrete order type of category 10 (like in std PP01) and making all the required settings for that order type (like described in the thread) you could produce a material with discrete. Thus a material could be produced both with REM and Discrete, if you need that way. You may also choose to use the old rate routing used for REM by suitable configuring the order type parameters.

Hi Ramunujan,

When you have REM profile with production verison with rem allowed indicator then MRP created RS type of planned orders which are not convertable to production orders then how we will create production orders.

We must have to mainatin order types (discreate like PP01) with work scheduling view and there should not be REM allowed indicator in material master.

Remove the REM Indicator & REM Profile in MRP-4 View.

Create Workcenter with Workcenter category 0011 or Production line & then use that workcenter in Normal Routing (Not Rate Routing).

Plus in Normal Routing you can create more than one operation (Unlike Repitivie Mfg).

Then create production order, release, confirmations (Not Backflush) & GR.

Hi

just to add to the above replies

1. standard routing with workcenter category 0001 with appropriate std value key and formula for discrete, control key configuration ( PP01)

2. scheduling parameters to be changed to detailed sehcduling from rate based scheduling( OPU5, OPU3)

3. check order conversion in plant parameters

4. check the production scheduling profile and assign the order type.

and test the complete cycle from planning, GI, confirmation, GR, settlement.

Hope this helps

Hi

You need to maintain the order dependent parameters, Like planned order to prodn order conversion which is the default order type .You have maintain the settlement rule.

HI,

Hi,

You need to deactivate the cost collector indicator in the Order type dependent

parameter.

The preliminary and final costing need to be carried out at production order level
