what does release number in WE82 signify ? In ECC 6.0 what release number should i specify when i make a new entry ?

Actually in 4.6 i had an entry with release number as 31G. In ECC when i create an entry for that idoc/mesg type, what release number should i use ?

hi,

Goto the system status in the menu bar.

In the SAP sytem data click on the icon (component information) there you will get the SAP release number. You can mention that.

you can use the release no 700.

Pls reward if hepfull.

Thanks for the response sharath. One clarification.

My current 4.6 is interfacing with a thirdparty thru a middleware. I am going to duplicate the same message types in ECC 6.0 and we dont want any change in the middleware. In 4.6, the release number for that message type was 31G, and in ECC if I am going to use 700, will it have any impact on communication with the middleware ? will any of the idoc structure be affected because of this ??

thks
