Hi,

release group is two digit character- in which you mention the characterstics (via assigning class) which will be applicable for releasing po.

Relase code is a two digit character - which is the persons responsible for the release.

In relase strategy you mention the release group and in that the codes that will release the PO.

Hi,

The release code is a two-character ID allowing a person to release (clear, or approve) a requisition or an external purchasing document.

Release groups refer to a group of release codes which can release a purchasing document for a release strategy.

You can find all the description in

help.sap.com> click r3 enterprise> language english> click MM> purchasing> purchase orders> release procedure.

This link will be helpful.

Hi,

Release group is the group responsible for release the purchase order normally only one group will be there..

Release code is the level of person who is releasing like

first buyer

second manager

third Sr.Manager

It is the level of release ,it depends on the company

The release code (denoting a release point) is a two-character ID allowing a person to process a requisition item. The release codes are defined in the Customizing facility of Purchasing and assigned to the release strategy. Who may work with which release codes is basically controlled via a system of authorizations (authorization object M_EINK_FRG).
