Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to remove the SLOC-WM configuration, Whereas the stock is available in the WM level under the sloc.

Question : How can we reduce the stock at WM level only without creating the FI documents?

Additional question: Can we transfer the stock from one batch to other batch in the WM level only?

Note: No FI postings for above all Queries.

Thanks,
Saikumar

Hi Dominik, I understood your solution. For suppose if we have only negative stock in the sloc for a 'X' Material in the interim bins. How can we remove this negative stock from WH ( without creation of FI documents).

Hello @saikumarkatla

It is not possible with standard transaction to reduce WM stock only, without changing MM storage location stock. WM movements as such don't change stock levels. They only move stock between storage bins. Any posting changing stock levels has to be done in MM.

Having said that, you can remove WM stock by manually deleting stock quants from the LQUA table. I have used that approach and it works, but be warned that is not recommended approach, there is a high risk of stock inconsistencies and you really need to know what you are doing.

The recommended course of action is to reduce the stock to zero with MM postings, e.g. with 562 movement type, which will reduce WM stock at the same time. Then close all outstanding, open WM documents e.g. transfer requirements, transfer orders, posting notifications. Only after that, remove the assignment of the storage location to the warehouse number. Once WM is disabled for the storage location, you can bring the stock back, again with MM postings, e.g. with 561 movements.

If you definitively need to avoid any FI postings, you can reduce the stock to zero by moving it with movement type 311 temporarily to another storage location that is not WM managed. MM movement type 311 doesn't generate FI postings. You can transfer all the stock from a WM managed storage location to another temporary storage location that is not WM managed. Thus the stock in the WM managed storage location and in the corresponding warehouse number will get reduced to zero. Of course, the overall stock on the plant level will not be changed. Once the stock in the WM managed storage location is reduced to zero, you can remove link to the warehouse number, thus disabling WM management in this storage location. After the WM is disabled, you can move the stock back from the temporary storage location.

Best regards

Hi, For the solution suggested the FI documents will get posted. So, is there any possible way to reduce stock without any FI documents posting. And also kindly answer to my additional question.

@saikumarkatla  See my updated answer. You can use 311 movement type instead of 561. This way FI postings will be avoided.

@saikumarkatla What is that you are confused about? What additional explanations do you need? Please ask specific questions, so I can provide detailed answers.

hi, how can we reduce the stock by using 311? As 311 is used for transferring the stock from one sloc to another within the plant. therefore still stock exists in the plant.

You can move stock to other location using 311 however you can not zero out the stock without creating FI documents if you materials are valuated. If you zero the stock -what is your plan to bring inventory back ?--best solution is use 311 move sloc with not WM managed and consume materials from non WM locations.

Hi Dominik, Thanks for the solution. In addition to that, how can we remove the negative stocks in interim bins at WM level without creating the FI documents.

@saikumarkatla 311 MM postings will create negative quants in WM in interim bins. At the same time transfer requisitions are created for the material documents (311 postings). Now you need to create transfer orders against those transfer requisitions (transaction LT04) or directly against material documents (transaction LT06). The transfer orders are to move stock from real storage bins to the interim bins. That will zero the negative quants.
