Hi,

- transaction data typically are the day to day FI postings (journals, invoices, credit notes, reversals, adjustments, tax entries etc.,)

- master data refers to gl accounts, bank accounts, vendor & customer accounts

Hi,

There are two types of data -

1. Master data - They are not updated frequently and holds the major information. It serves as a link between different modules. E.g. Customer master data / Vendor master data

2. Transaction data - They store data frequently and are also accessed frequently. Daily activities are stored here and the data is very huje. Retrieving information from these has to be handled with care. E.g. daily accounting entries that we make forms the transaction data. E.g. BSEG table holds accounting data at line item level.

Hope this clarifies your question. Pls. assign points.

Regards,
