hello

the subject says it all,

but to reiterate:

i'm talking about ORDERS screen,

all i want is to get the value of that cell...

i tried:

' sboMtx = oFormItems.Items.Item("38").Specific

' 44 is the column ID, i is the correct row.

sboMtx.Columns.Item(44).Cells.Item(i).Specific.Selected.Value

or

sboMtx.Columns.Item(44).Cells.Item(i).Specific.Value

it returns NOTHING...

any other way i can't get the value??? thanks.

use "44" and not 44 for the column-name.

and the winner is...

the conversion to string as the KEY!!!

(not 44, but rather cstr(44))

i forgot to mention but all other cells

DID return value, even when the key was integer.

oh well...

thanks to all.

You were lucky you got the correct data from the other columns. if you use 44 you get data from the 44th column instead of data from the column named 44

the plot thickens...

NOW, i want to SET value to this cell.

but i can't, maybe because it is disabled.

i tried searching the forum,

i read all about userdatasrouce, dbdatasourced

but i still hasn't succeeded...

i keep getting "the item is not user defined and cant be manipulated in this manner" error.

so what manner should i use??

how do i set value to a disabled "system" cell.. ?

(important: 6.5 version!)

thanks.

what is the event you are retrieving this from, and is it BeforeAction=false?
