Raw material with a UOM of Metric Ton to Semi-processed Short Ton?

Can I set up a new raw material (material we buy/its on the PO) with a UOM of Metric Ton and create its semi processed material (wich will be consumed or resold) with a Short Ton UOM?

Hi,

You can create a material (e.g.FERT)& maintain its Base Unit of measure (Metric Ton) in MM01-Basic Data view & click on Additional data tab under Units of measure -->here you can maintain the relations between the base unit of measure & different different Uom which might be used for this Material.

After this you can create one more material with MATNR type HALB and maintain its Uom(Short Ton) in similar way as mentioned above for this as well.Also maintain Base Uom in Sales Org 1 view if it is to be sold so that this Uom will be triggered in Sales Orders.

You can also defined Bill of material with FERT as main & the HALB as its sub component as well.
