RAR revenue recognition vs Results Analysis

Hi,

I'm little bit lost with understanding the difference between Revenue Accouting and Reporting revenue recognition and revenue recognition in Results Analysis. I have read several blogs about both, checked SAP help, but still I feel lost here. Could you elaborate on these topics difference?

My understanding is that RAR revenue recognition is to meet IFRS 15 requirements, to recognize revenue per POB, and there are 3 methods: time based, event based and POC.

But I'm confused, because in SAP Help for Results Analysis I can see 'event-based revenue recognition method... so we have the same 'naming' in different modules for different functionalities?

Is purpose of Results analysis to match costs to revenues, and has nothing to do with IFRS 15?
