quotas

I have configured quotas based on seniorities in set base entitlements.

0-5 years 80 hrs

5-10 years 160 hrs

Now i was thinking when we go live, we will define the actual hire dates in 0041. How will the seniorities picked from 0041 and quotas be generated? Where do i have put that seniorities are based on it 0041.

Please suggest.

In the table V_T559L, under the "Selection rules" inside the "Base entitl." tab, you have a section called "Key Date for Determining Seniority". In this section, please select your IT0041 date in the Date Type field. This is how the system will determine the seniority for generating quotas.

Please maintain HDATE feature as David said and then senioity will be calcualted from the date type specified in the feature.

I followed the directions which you advised for determining key date for seniority...I see the following documentation. If you see the last para it is written it doesnt take the year from the date specification type but just teh day...what does that mean.

Key date for determining seniority

In this field, you specify the key date used to calculate seniority.

The length of seniority is calculated from the difference between the key date of the current year and the date the employee started working at the company.

Use

If an employee's seniority is to be determined for a particular date, then any change in the seniority is taken into account within the accrual period. The resulting accrual entitlement is then calculated proportionately according to the different base entitlements.

If you use a date type from the Date Specifications infotype (0041) to determine the key date, the system uses the current year, and not the year specified in the date type. If, therefore, you determine the key date in 2000 and the date type specifies June 15, 1998, the system uses the key date June 15, 2000.

Date Specification info type stores important dates with regard to each employee. E.g. Hire date that mark the begin date for seniority calculation is an important date for many personnel procedures

so as per ur query the system would not take the the date specified but will take the date specified in the current year

if u want to caluculatet the seniority basis make sure that the date that is imp shd come auotmatically in IT0041

not sure whether this helps my exposure towards time is not that much good but a try........
