Quantity Falls into Negative Stock . [Message 131-149]

Hi All,

I have encountered a strange situation at a customer.

System: B1 2007 SP:01 PL:09

Stock Managed By Warehouse

System Setting: Block Negative Stock By Warehouse

Customer tried to Goods Issue quantity of 1 for a selected Item:

Item Stock Position:

Warehouse: 01: In Stock: 21,340, Committed: 1,240, Order: 42,000, Available: 52,100

Warehouse: 02: In Stock: 0, Committed: 0, Order: 0, Available: 0

When they tried to add the Goods Issue the system issue the message:

'Quantity Falls into Negative Stock . [Message 131-149]'

Can anyone shed some light on this or suggest what might be the cause?

Best regards

Earl

Hi Earl,

The default warehouse for this item might be changed from others. Restart B1 to check. Is the date current day?

Thanks,

Hi Gordon,

I am the only user on the system and I have checked and rechecked. The Warehouse has not changed (01) and the transaction and system date are today's date.

Is this a production environment? If yes, make a backup immediately and restore it to test environment. Something must be wrong. Log a message to SAP support if you could reproduce the issue in test db. Do more testing like restore item balance to see.

Hi!

What is the over all instock of the item (sum of all warehouse) check it in Item Master, the total may be zero. And have you checked Manage Inventory by Warehouse in Item Master ??

Hi All,

Many thanks for the input. After further testing, by setting the Manage By Warehouse resolve the issue.

Earl,

Just to let you know. This is a confirmed bug. Search for note 1442144.

Hi

Could you check which configuration in the "Base Units" (Y or N). If you are using this option this may affects the way stock is calculated.

Check also to which WH you have as default in that transaction. Just to confirm if the WH selected is not under the minimum.

Hi Paulo,

The Base Unit is set to 'Y' and the default Warehouse is '01' which has sufficient stock free.

Best regards
