Hi all,

What does the transaction Quality Planning->Catalog->Selected set->Check usage do ?The transaction code is QS58.I thought initially as a where used list ,but it's not ,because first time when i executed it -the result was a list containing plants, catalog and selected sets .I went back and executed again ,but this time it woudn't show the list instead i got a message sayin "the usage indicator was corrected for 0 selected sets"

FYI,

This transaction is also there for code groups .QS48 and does the same thing as for selected sets.

Thanks

Naik

Hi

Description

This report checks the usage indicator for selected sets and adjusts it

if necessary.

As soon as a selected set is used in another task (e.g., in an

inspection plan), the system sets the usage indicator (QPAM-VERWENDUNG =

X).

The consequence of this is that the selected set can no longer be

deleted from the system.

If you cancel the reference to the selected set, the usage indicator is

not immediately reset since the system must check all the places where

the selected set could be used (e.g., all task lists and master

inspection characteristics). Such an action would take up too much time.

You can use this report instead.

This report checks if a selected set is being used. If it is not being

used, the report resets the usage indicator. Afterwards, you can delete

the selected set.

Example

The following example explains how the report works:

1. First you create selected set ABC and assign codes to it.

2. You refer to the selected set in an inspection plan.

The system sets the usage indicator (QPAM-VERWENDUNG = X).

3. You then delete the reference to the selected set.

The usage indicator remains set. As a result, the selected set

cannot be deleted in the transaction for maintaining selected sets

(QS51), even though it is no longer being used.

4. You execute the report. The report determines that the selected set

is no longer being used and resets the usage indicator

(QPAM-VERWENDUNG = SPACE).

5. You can now delete the selected set in transaction QS51.

QS48 also works in similar way.

Hi ALL,

As the documentation say ....

. First you create selected set ABC and assign codes to it.

The usage indicator is not yet set (QPAM-VERWENDUNG = SPACE).

2. You refer to the selected set in an inspection plan.

The system sets the usage indicator (QPAM-VERWENDUNG = X).

3. You then delete the reference to the selected set.

The usage indicator remains set. As a result, the selected set cannot be deleted in the transaction for maintaining selected sets (QS51), even though it is no longer being used.

4. You execute the report. The report determines that the selected set is no longer being used and resets the usage indicator (QPAM-VERWENDUNG = SPACE).

5. You can now delete the selected set in transaction QS51

I tried to test this ,but when i reached step 4 and wanted to execute the report (QS58) i get this message"the usage indicator was corrected for 0 selected sets".i'm not able to go any furthur .Please guide .Thanks
