PRT non valuated stock

Dear Gurus,

I have the requirement to stock manage PRTs for Production (Material PRT) but without having their value in stock (only the quantity). My idea is to create a new Material type (copy FHMI material type and uncheck "Value Update") so that I have the functionality of FHMI (PRT mat type) and the benefit of not having the value associated to the stock.

Before I move on with this I wanted to ask you whether there is a better way in SAP to fulfill this requirement.

Hello,

You could create PRT with Non-valuated Materials type as material master. You can maintain stock without value and consume it.
