Product Cost Collector

Hi PP Experts,

When i created a product cost collector, the cost estimate only considered the cost of materials, but has not considered activity cost like setup,production and teardown time.

How do i bring the activity cost in product cost collector?

Any suggestions will be rewarded.

Vinod,

Yes you have to give activity type in work center. This activity has to be assigned a price in KP26 for the cost center.

Hi,

I have made the correction in the work center WRT to including the activity type.

Do i need to do cost estimate in KKF6N again?

How do i go about it?

Hi Mr.Vinod,

First goto KKF6N,

1.Enter the material & plant details for which you are planning to carryout the cost estimate.Press enter

2.Now if already a product cost collector exists for this material on the left hand side of the screen it shows the list of product collectors,then put a tick mark in the check box and click on the change button,(Shift + F6) and then click on cost button which looks like calculator as said by Mr.Ram(Shift + F1).

3.Save

and I hope now your activity cost has got captured.

Sir,

still not able to get the activity costing, do i have to do something with valuation variant or anything like that?

Dear Mr.Vinod,

Try with this,

1.Enter the material,plant & press enter.

2.On the left hand the system shows the product cost collectors for your production versions if exists any.

3.Now for your case as you have created already,put a tick mark in the box and then on the right hand side click on header tab page - then click on Cost estimate,

If the system pops up a window select the latest one (costing date) and press enter

Now you will be able to see top half page showing with details of costs based on,

There click on error log button ( a triangle shaped) and u will get the information like what data is wrong or what's missing.

Check that and work around for rectifying the mistake.

Hi

Now is the activity cost getting captured?

If not,Double click on the activity number in routing for each operation and in the next page ,Scroll down ,and in general data tab page check the field for Costing Relevency is X or not.

If not include the costing indicator and once again check in KKF6N.

Please check & confirm

Sir,

Costing relivance is marked "X".

Also in workcenter, costing tab, i have given the formula in the following way,

Activity Type Formula

MACHIN SAPR02 Rate: Machine time

SETUP SAPR01 Rate: Setup time

LABOUR SAPR03 Line: Labor time

Please authenticate the same.

Vinod,

As you assigned the activity type in work center after creating the routing, the activity type would not have been copied in the routing. So go to ca22 and manually enter the activity type against the standard values. Save the routing.

Also check if the routing valid from date is in the past (prior to the costing date).

Now recost the material in KKF6N in change mode by clicking on the calculator box after selecting the check box for material and plant on the left side.

Dear Mr.Vinod,

I dont know when you assigned the activity types in your work centre.

I'm also not sure whether your cost centre which's assigned in work centre has been alloted some activity types and certain rates for that.

Please assign the<b> rate routing</b> in the production version under detailed planning.

Plz check,Reward points & close the thread.

Which material prices or activity prices are used to valuate materials, internal activities, and external activities in preliminary costing

Which material prices or activity prices are used to valuate materials, internal activities, and external activities in the actual data

Which costing sheet is used to apply the overhead

IN T.CODE OPN2 >>CLICK NEW AND ENTER THE VALVES THAT INDIRECTLY CONNECT TO THE PRODUCT COST COLLECTOR

SO UNDER THIS T.CODE YOU CAN GIVE THE VALUES OF THE MATRL VALUE IF PROCURE, ACTIVITY VALVE ,SUBCONTRACT VALVE

PLS GO THROU THE ABOVE IT WILL HELPFULL

Hi ,

I hope you must have created a product cost collector for your HALB or FERT material using a valid production version.

Please check whether you have mentioned some standard time for your operation or setup or labour time in the routing for each operation.

It's assumed that for your work centre you have allocated some cost centre and also check the valid from date in the costing tab page for work centre.

Also please check the key date of your routing.

Please revert to the forum after checking this.

Hi Mangal,

In my routing i have specified all the times.

Also, in work center apart from cost center do i have to give activity type, since this is REM i have not inserted activity type in workcenter.

I also have a valid production version.

Valid date for wrk center is from 05.07.2007 to 31.12.9999.

Valid date for Routing is from 05.07.2007 to 31.12.9999.

Pls advice sir.

Hello Dear,

Could you please tell me wherfrm did u come to know that in REM no activity types are required for work centers.

Please include the activity type for your work centre.and its own valid cost centre.

It means for that particular cost center you have toassign some activity type.

In KP26,for a cost center activity type & rate is assigned.

You have to assign the same cost centre ans activity type here.

But As you are saying there r no activity types for ur work centre,how did u enter the time required for each operation?

Please check ,modify and work
