hi vijay

ya that is right....but when we create prod.ord manually it will also plan for its product structure i.,e it will also create pur.req for ROH...what is the significance of MRp over prod.ord....

Shrinivas,

MRP creates planned order taking care of the following:

1) Firstly MRP run creates planned order only of there is shortfall.

2) The order dates are as per requirement.

3) The BoM items are planned immedietly (either PR or again planned order).

Now if you have to create manually then you need to calculate the shortfall manually, enter the prod dates manually checking the requirement dates.

Now with planned order conversion your job is made easy. After all that is the job of MRP run. So why do you want to create manually - unless there is no plan !

Shrinivas,

If any shortage exists for components then your production order will be blocked till you arrange the shortage quantity. If you go with MRP...then these will be pre-planned and you can arrange all required components well in advance before the production gets starts particulary if you have some part which have long lead time in procurement.

If you are working with keeping sufficient stock then you can by-pass MRP and create production order.

PRODUCTION ORDER

THROUGH THE MRP

if we created the prodution order through the MRP run.

1st , while we run the MRP , we have got the planned oder for the materials as well as the purchase requisation for the unavailable materials for that particular order and we have convert into the production order

From this, we can have the fine scheduling and the level of planning even to individual material can possible . so ATP can possible with the least cousion time.

DIRECT PRODUCTIO ORDER

HERE we have to create the prod order manually,

the planning and scheduling is coarse. we schedule the work centre after the order comes.

Hi

MRP - Planned order gets created and production order can be created by converting planned order

Thr MRP - Planned orders gets scheduled based on Basid dates or Lead time scheduling. You can view the scheduled dates in the planned orders. The reference of Planned order can be seen against each production order after conversion. The advantage is running MRP creates planned orders/ purchase requisition for all the items in the product structure by exploding BOM at each and every level.

Production orders created directly - Without planning thr MRP the production orders can be created directly . Scheduling is done for production orders.

The disadvantage is evry level/item manually either production order or purchase req are to be created

Hope this helps

Pls reward points
