Employee is eligible for Ptax. For this particular employee Ptax basis amount is wrong .

Ptax amount = One month gross but it should be gross yearly.

Professional tax for other employees in this payroll area is not having issue.

Pl suggest me what to do.

Thanks.

Hello

As MP Ptax is based on the yearly income so the ptax calculated is also on the yearly basis.

so system calculates the ptax for the whole year on the basis of yearly basis and then check how much ptax is deducted in the current year and then remaining amount is divided into remaining months.

For more details please check the processing part of function INPTX in the payroll log.

Thanks and Kind Regards

After checking the Log we found that total amount for calculation of Ptax is the total of gross amount after revision (ie Oct'2011)

what can be the reason.

Thanks

Hi,

there are two WT /118 and /119 for Ptax Basis.

Please check the Wt's which are checked tick mark for /118 and sum of them to corss check your basiss amount.

/118:

The Professional Tax basis (PTX Basis) wage type (/118) is a system

generated wage type that represents the basis on which the PTX deduction

of the employee is computed. This will constitute all salary components

that are considered for computation of PTX. The definition of salary

differs at a state level. It normally includes basic salary, dearness

allowance and other regular remuneration. Depending on your payroll

policy, other wage types bearing characteristics similar to the wage

types referred to can be included in the computation of this basis, if

relevant.

Wage Type

The wage type for the PTX Basis is /118. This is a cumulation wage type

and is generated during the payroll run.

/119:

The Professional Tax basis (PTX Basis) - Nominal is a system generated

wage type that represents the nominal basis on which the Professional

Tax deduction of the employee is computed if the salary for the purpose

of the act is on a nominal basis. The professional Tax is a state

defined tax and the salary components that are considered for this basis

will be as per the relevant state. Thus it normally includes basic

salary, dearness allowance, and other regular income.

Wage Type

The wage type for the PTX Basis - Nominal is /119. This is a cumulation

wage type and is generated during the payroll run.
