Dear Experts,
Currently, we are having problems in the posting periods in SBO. The posting periods will be unlocked automatically while the users never login to change the posting periods. Is there any bugs in SAP B1 8.82 PL12? This has been happened for few times already. I have checked the change log and it showed that 2 user IDs - acstaff & itadmin have changed the posting periods while the users did not change the posting period. I am using itadmin to login to SAP and I never change the posting period but it showed Updated 24/02/2015, Updated by itadmin when I clicked on the change log of posting period.
Kindly guide me on the above issue.
Thanks & BR,
Leng

Hi Hui Leng Chan...
Un check the Automatic change of the status to closing period
Automatically assigns the status Closing Period to periods that have already ended. When you log on to SAP Business One, the system date is compared with the Posting Date To defined for the existing posting periods. Each posting period with a Posting Date To that is earlier than the current system date gets the status Closing Period.
An authorized user can change the status of the existing posting period.

Hi,
This is the posting period for 01-2014, itadmin never make any changes on that period and after that acstaff change the period status from unlocked to locked.
This is the posting period for 03-2015 (future posting), itadmin never do any changes on it.
This is the posting period for 10-2014
Thanks,
Leng
Hi Kennedy,
Based my testing, your statement above isn't quite complete: I propose changes for your review and comment:
[SAP] Automatically assigns the status Closing Period to [the immediately preceding period ] periods that have already [just] ended. When you log on to SAP Business One, the system date is compared with the "Posting Date To" defined for the [period just past.]existing posting periods. Strike the following text SAP doesn't check each prior perid -->Each posting period with a Posting Date To that is earlier than the current system date gets the status Closing Period. The number entered in "Date when Automatic Change is Applied" determines what date of the current (i.e. new) month to trigger the closing (aka Locking) of the prior period. 1 is the lowest value. Regretably 1 doesn't mean the first of the month. It means the 1st day after the new month begins (i.e. the 2nd day of the month.) Which is not helpful. Sadly the automatic closing doesn't also automaticaly open and new period.
