posting only possible in periods 2011/12 &2011/11 in company code 1001

Dear SaP Experts,

Please advise me that posting only possible in periods 2011/12 &2011/11 in company code 1001...we are facing in problem in SES.

Message No 7053

when i have done MMPI and enter company code then OSS note is coming 487381.....

when i checked MMRV then

current period 12 2011

previous period 11. 2011

last period in prev. period 11 2010

Then after MMPV IS not going to conversion...

Hi,

pls gothrough all Tcodes related to period end closing MMPV,OB52,OMSY, If u use k4 Calender. then it is possible the variat closes the period from 01/2010 to 12/2010 and opens the next year as accidentally opened upto 01/2011,02/2011,03/2011 hoping the fiscal year start from 04/2010 to 03/2011.

1st check your Posting Period Variant for your company code " 1001" in t.code: OBY6.

Go through this link.This link has dealt a similar issue with your requirement.Hope it definitely helps to solve your issue.

hi,

acully for this you have to done in mmpv not in mmpi check it once in omsy and ob52 also.

1.go to mmpv give the 01 and co.code save .

then 12 period will be closed 01 will be open.

Please note that when i entered in MMPV 01 & 2012

then error is coming

the specified year 2012 is not current calender year.

I looks like you are playing in area that you dont understand.

periods are closed and rolled forward using MMPV

periods are initialized with MMPI, this is usually a 1-time event before going live.

As you can destroy a lot and create inconsistencies by executing MMPI while your system is live, SAP has restricted its usage and issues a message that you shall look into OSS note 487381..

and the OSS note 487381 gives the hint what you have to do to run MMPI (among a lot usuefull information why it is so dangerous to run MMPI)

you have already period 12 2011, which means December 2011, but we have currently October - you know that?

you rolled the period with MMPV to far into the future. so you can only make this undone with MMPI.

Hence, read the OSS note to get the key fow the thing you have to do.

But...before you start, check what Mrinalini posted. if you have a fiscal year that is different from the calendar year, then period 01 does not stand for January anymore. So make first clear what your real SAP period should be.

Work with your FI guys to check the calender year and number of periods.

we are still in 09/2011 and 10/2011 you have already closed the periods by using MMPV.

Now you need to revert back to the current period. Follow the OSS 487381 note.
