Dear Sir,
I am trying to create a position via PPOM_OLD. there i created a head position, say X, then below X, i created a Y position, assigned holder to that position. Now, when i try creating a position below Y, say Z, it gets created below X which is wrong.I mean, it is getting created above Y. How to do the same?
Thanks

Hi Shree,
As per your question, you are saying that you are creating a position under a position.. which is not correct
We will be creating the Org Unit and it incorporates Positions (Nothing but creating a positions under a Org Unit)
Here if you create Positions X, Y & Z,.... By using OM Relationship concept we can create as below
X --> Head
Y reports to (A 002) X
Z reports to (A 002) Y
Hope you got me... Revert if you have any further queries.
Have a good day...!

Dear All,
Thanks for the reply. I think, I myself got confused while asking the question...:)
well, according to my query, the following is the sequence to be followed:
1. I created a Head Position via PPOM_OLD. Say X
2. Below X, a position was created , Say, Y.
3. Assigned the holder to Y
4. Selected position Y, and created position Z below Y.
But, it is getting created below X, and not Y, i.e., Below the head position.
Regards,
All these Positions under one Org unit and Position X is head of that unit ....so remaining all positions will be under these Org unit and Position X.......but you have to assign the reporting structure for which position reports to which position ....
Select your Position Z and Click on GOTO from the menu and select Reporting Structure ....here you can assign Position Z reports to Position Y.....once assigned If you expand reporting structure then you can see Position Z under Position Y.

Hi
The process goes like this
a) Create the Organisation Unit
b) The organisation Unit incorporates a position and that's how you have created the X position.
c) You have assigned the person to the position
When you try to create a new position the system will ask you to create the position under organisation unit but not under a position. the message being " Choose Superior Organisation Unit" and hence will not let you create the position.
As per your question I feel (please this is just my opinion and apologies if i am wrong) the System is behaving in the correct manner.
Regards
RR
