Hello

I am new to SAP HCM. I wanted to know about PLOGI PRELI with value 99999999. I mean i know it defaults position and but what exactly that mean. What if we switch it off, what will be the effect? What if a firm doesnt implement OM module then what will be effect?

Please suggest.

Hi Mahwish,

This default position means an employee doesn't occupy any position in the organizational structure in specific.

Documentation of Switch:

In a personnel action (hiring, organizational reassignment), the person being hired is assigned to  a position, and thereby indirectly to an organizational unit, job and cost center. This is done in the infotype "organizational assignment" (0001).

If, however, the position does not yet exist at the time of the action, the person can be assigned directly to an organizational unit.The system fills the "position" field in the infotype "organizational

assignment" (0001) with the default position defined in this entry.

This default position exists only in Personnel Administration and not in Organizational Management. In such a case you should therefore create a position in organizational management as well and assign it to the person concerned. The default position takes on, therefore, the function of a human resource pool. That is, everyone assigned initially to this position has yet to receive his own position.

In case if you are not using O.M the you must use default position in  0001 infotype. If you make the switch as blank then whatever entry you are maintaining against position field will not be identified as default position.

Hi,

OM is not mandatory unless we are implementing Compensation Management Module and ESS and MSS modules. When we are not implementing OM then the default position is used as 99999999. If you switch off this switch then you will need to enter the position number for every person hired.

Hi Mahwish

pl try OOPS tcode or SM30/31->T77S0-system table.Intergtaion swtiches are maintained in the table.which allows for data flow betwen sub modules like PA->OM for example.

PLOGI is basically a table that holds object types and id's.

you can check se16 for the entries in PLOGI.

Hi Mahwish,

PLOGI PRELI represent default position. SAP standard keep it 99999999. You can change the value if you want of keep it blank.

If you change the value of PLOGI PRELI then default position shows your value.

OM and PA is the primary and mandatory module of SAP. Other module can't be implement with out this Two.

I think it can be solve your query.

Hi,

In addition to what Rabi has explained, default position 99999999 gets defaulted once employee is terminated. i.e the position is vanat (the employee who is holding the posiion will be vacant).

eg: if a employee is holding a position P47845, his position will be vacant when terminated. This updates IT1007 (Vacancy infotype in OM end)

\Also the existing relationship between employee and the position ( A008 - Holder) will be delimited from OM end. This can be viewed from PO13.

You may also generate standard reports on S_AHR_61016502 -Existing Positions, S_AHR_61016509 -Vacant Positions
