Hello KerryOnn,
So yeah, Markus already gave you the answer.
On the other hand, a small thing from my side.

In PM/EAM what we essentially need is so called Mini HR.
Yes, it's still HR Module, but it doesn't mean it has to be fully configured and reflect the reality.
If your company does not use it, has some 3rd party solution for it etc. - just do the dummy config, only for PM/EAM purpose.
It will make your life easier.

Especially when u run S/4HANA.
You create Personnel Numbers, do the BP replication and that's it.
And you are can leverage for instance RSH and other things.

So yeah, think about that as well.

Cheers,
Dan

Hi!

In short: yes, there are ways to do that.

In a more detailed fashion: as always, it depends on what you're after 🙂

First of all, let me point out different levels regarding the assignment of work.

  1. on work center level, only considering general availability/capacity provided by your workforce. Like this, you don't even have to consider the individual persons and just make sure that you have enough capacity available for your work.
  2. via "person responsible": on operation level you can make a 1:1 one connection between a person and an operation, e.g. in Tx IW32 (or the respective Fiori app) or in our Asset Management for resource scheduling solution (RSH)
  3. and finally creating 1:n assignments between an operation and multiple executing technicians, for which there are also mutliple ways
    1. creating "capacity splits" with RSH
    2. assigning technicians via SAP Field Service Management (FSM)
    3. manually creating capacity splits within an operation via Iw32, see details in the respective SAP Help for onPremise/Private Cloud Edition here.

For options 2 and 3, there is a documentation regarding assigning individuals to operations via RSH, which can be found here:
S/4HANA Cloud: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/2dfa044a255f49e89a3050daf3c61c11/bd80e60bd9d2448ba31ad0d8...

In FSM, there are multiple concepts, you might want to explore:

Hope this helps!

Markus

So yes I appreciate both answers, and it looks like this mini HR is the one. Is it mini HR due to the minimal usage?

I was told no for utilizing the HR module, as a work around, I made Mx Techs into workcenters... then replaced the Mn.Wrk.ctr: into them... I don't like it, but, it's what is given me. I really need the metrics and KPIs, like to see everyone and track time on jobs, multiple techs on a call and split them out to cover other calls.

I will have all of this with mini HR, correct? A quick look-through shows it will be necessary for MM module when I finally get that! I will complete a workup on mini HR and bring that forward.

THANK YOU ALL, tuts, articles, howtos, and anything will be helpful...
