Planning Package cannot be edited with planning layout

Hi Gurus,

When I am trying enter planning method am getting the error like Planning package cannot be edited with planning layout

Planning package cannot be edited with planning layout XXX

Message no. KG1003

Diagnosis

Planning layout "xxx" has one or more variables for characteristic "ARTNR". These variables are given values from the selection criterion for the planning package. The selection criterion (single values and/or interval) must match the variables.

System Response

The system tries to replace the variables in the planning layout with the selection criterion for the planning package. If, for example, there is a variable for a single value in the planning layout for a characteristic, then the selection criterion must contain a single value. If there are two variables for the from and to value of an interval in the planning layout for a characteristic, then an interval must also exist in the selection criterion .

Procedure

Change planning layout "xxx" or use a different planning layout.

My understanding from the above message is characteristics ARTNR in planning package has one or more values(lets say range in variables) whereas it is not there in planning layout. Here I couldn't able to make it as a range for characteristics ARTNR in my planning layout variable.

Edit->Element->change/dsiplay here am not getting from and to field for ARTNR. Please help.

Regards,

Mohdsams

Hi ,

I realized the mistake, actually I didn't make ARTNR as a lead column hence i didn't get the from and to value in characteristics. Now it is completed and closing discussion.

Hello

Solution and reason for error message KG1003 is exactly explained in the long text of this error message: 'Planning layout "" has one or more variables for characteristic "".

These variables are given values from the selection criterion for the planning package. The selection criterion (single values and/or interval) must match the variables.  The system tries to replace the variables in the planning layout with  the selection criterion for the planning package. If, for example,  there is a variable for a single value in the planning layout for a  characteristic, then the selection criterion must contain a single  value. If there are two variables for the from and to value of an  interval in the planning layout for a characteristic, then an interval  must also exist in the selection criterion.

Change planning layout "" or use a different planning layout.

I hope this helps you,

Best Regards,

RRuiz.

Thanks for your clarification, that is where I struck up because for characteristic ARTNR I couldn't able to make from and to variables in my planning layout by default it is grayed out in general data selection. Please help me how to make it enable from and also variable for characteristic ARTNR.
