Physical samples per Handling Unit w/ EWM

Hello experts,

I need help in the following scenario:
1) Create PO -> inbound delivery -> Pack HU in EWM an post to inspection stock

2) I want to have the numbers of packed HUs in the No. Containers field in the inspection lot w/ corresponding UoM for sample item determination and sample size determination.

The goal is to have a 1:1 relationship between physical sample and HU so I can block one specific HU when a physical sample is rejected.

I now that there is this Help portal post: Quality Inspection for Handling Units | SAP Help Portal

But this scenario is not working because I use inspection type 1701.

Hello, 

You need to be careful when you are dealing with QM and EWM integration, lot of functionalities (when EWM is in place) won't work the same. 

If you use 1701 or even 01 inspection (with no inspection rule and only in embedded EWM) then HUs won't be assigned to the inspection lot, therefore, you cannot assign the HUs to the samples. And this is standard SAP.

In the other hand, there is an interesting functionality that maybe you can use, which is the "Split Sample Quantity" in EWM, it should be used in IOT4 EWM Inbound Inspection Process and it can be activated  in customizing as indicated in this note : https://me.sap.com/notes/0003432820

This functionality will create an inspection type ID "S" for the sample quantity taken from the first HU. You can also use this BAdI: /SCWM/EX_QM_STOCK_EXTSMPLE_QTY to control how the sample split is executed (to take a sample from each HU and to avoid taking all the sample quantity from the first HU).
