Dear All ,

can any one tell me what is "Over All Maintainance of Plant Parameters" and why we need to use this.

what are the benifits of this steps and can any one also show me the configuration steps please.

Dear Irfan ali,

Carryout overall maintenance of plant parameters in OPPQ is the first step for MRP.

For each plant we have to make this settings.

Under Environment>Number ranges->

Under this we assign the number ranges format for planned

orders,Reservations/Depde.Reqmts,Purchase requisitions,MRP Lists,Sim.depdent.Reqmts.

Under Master Data--->

1.MRP controllers,

2.Special procurement keys used like 30 for sub-contracting,40 for Stock transfer,50 for phantom's.

3.Floats which are used as scheduling margin key which is assigned in the MRP2 view of the material

master.

Under Palnned orders-->

1.Conversion-->into production order --assign the default type of prod.order(so whenever you convert a

planned order into a prod.order the system proposes this order type).

2.Conversion-->into process order --assign the default type of process.order(so whenever you convert a

planned order into a process.order the system proposes this order type).

Under Planning run

1.BOM/routing selection ID.

2.BOM explosion

3.Sched.parameters for detailed scheduling.

4.Planning horizon

5.Error handling etc.

Instead of doing all these steps individually in OPPQ you can carryout all the settings without missing

anything.

For each of this step,there's a separate T code where in you can perform the same activity.

HI,

The logical answer is

Over all maintenance of Plant Parameter is related to MRP.

In order to carry out Material Reqt. Planning in a plant, there are lot of parameters required. If you go to Material master MRP views, you can see lot of parameters is entered in each field. (you can observe MRP fields are plant specific - while creating MRP views, w/o plant you can't proceed).

In order to enter these fields in MRP, you have to maintain the standard parameters in IMG.

Goto SPRO - IMG Setting - Production - MRP- Plant parameters-Carryout overall maintenance of plant parameters.

Just display the data and study, you will understand clearly.

As soon as you navigate that path, you will find 4 main areas

1) Maintain environment

2) Maintain Master data

3) Maintain planne orders

4) Maintain planning run

In IDES server, if you can see 'Maintained' field. Just display and study.

Hi Irfan,

tcode - OPPQ,

This a central set up tool, which basically controls a lot of parameters for the MRP run at plant level. When MRP run is carried out it checks for the planning horizon, the rescheduling horizon, which is basically the number of days ahead which the system has to look into for checking the needs & sources.

Then it also checks the sequence in which the BOM & Routing is to be selected for the MRP run. You also specify the stocks which are to be considered as available. Then you have floats which specify the buffers which have to be added to the proposals.

In addition there are some technical aspects as well like error handling & performance setups.

Hope the above provides a brief about what is managed in OPPQ & how it helps.
