Contract will be time depenedent and have conditions with respect to time. However SA will have two doc types LP and LPA. SA will specific to a plant.

this is the basic difference where we will look.

main differnce is which u already know is that contract is created just as to ensure that vendor will supply the required quantity in a particular time frame but if u can not forecast your requirement for the material in question then u will be going for contract otherwise u have to go for schedule agreement

Apart from that the major difference is contract will have time dependent conditions, where as for sch agreement depends on the doc type.

Further in contract every time we have to issue new order(contract release order) but for sch agreements we will issue one time sch line doc for one time and every time we will update int he sch line doc.

In sch agreement with release strategy the controller will have time leverage to alter the requirements.

Contract is an agreement between Vendor and Buyer. It can be Quantity Contract or Value Contract. For doing procurement activities, Purchase Order or Outline Agreement has to be created with reference to the Contract. No procurement can be done directly based on Contract.

Scheduling Agreement can be used for repetitive procurement where in requirement can be forcasted for a predefined time limit.
