Solution
1. Question: What is meant by free goods in the R/3 System?
Answer:
Free goods is defined as being a discount in the form of free goods. This discount can be granted as follows: part of the goods ordered is not invoiced (inclusive bonus quantity) or the customer receives free goods in addition to the quantity ordered (exclusive bonus quantity). In the sales document the material ordered is entered in the main item. Depending on the setting in the free goods condition, the system generates a subitem for free goods.
2. Question: What does inclusive bonus quantity mean?
Answer:
Inclusive bonus quantity, also called inclusive free goods, is understood to be the form of free goods whereby part of the quantity ordered is given free of charge. Depending on the setting in the sales document, the inclusive bonus quantity automatically appears as a free subitem (the quantity ordered in the main item is reduced by the quantity of free goods) or a discount is calculated during the pricing for the share of free goods.
3. Question: What does exclusive bonus quantity mean?
Answer:
Exclusive bonus quantity, also called exclusive free goods, is understood to be the free goods type whereby the customer receives free goods in addition to the quantity ordered. With this type of free goods the goods ordered and the additional material can be different. In the sales document the exclusive bonus quantity always appears as a free subitem.
4. Question: Can I use the free goods function in all order types for example inquiry or quotation?
Answer:
No. The free goods function in the R/3 System is only provided by default for order types with document type C (see definition of sales document types in Customizing). Therefore, free goods is not supported for example with inquiry and quotation (document types A and B).
Thanks,
Ravi
