OS Command usage in Process Chains

Former Member

Hi all

I have used OS Command in a process chain to create an indicator file on the BW application server for a third party tool to pick the data files on identification of this file.

I tried to create a new OS command, but the process chain failed to create the file.

I tried to use an existing command used by another PC for creation of indicator file, but this has pointed to the other data files of the process which was created earlier.

Can I use a OS (system) command which is already in use with another similar process chain? If no, how would I be able to define a customer OS command without errors ?

Appreciate your replies.

Regards.

Ramesh

Hi Ramesh,

Try using the following FM to execute the OS command.

'SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE'

try this FM to get the OS commands in the AS.

'SXPG_COMMAND_LIST_GET'

Hi Ramesh,

I think you should be able to use OS(System) Command even it is already used with another similar process chain.

Please post think kind of question in BI Forum for prompt response.

hope it helps.
