Hello Experts,

We have to change the production version selection from "0-Automatic selection of production version" to "1-Manual selection of production version" in the Order type dependent parameter configuration. Since we have change & set this for more than 500 entries, we are looking for mass change options for this task.

I checked document from SAP Help Portal and followed all the steps as mentioned below, even then the value is not changing from 0 to 1 i.e (Automatic selection of production version to Manual selection of production version).

SAP Help portal link for the steps which I was referring Changing the Content of Fields - SAP Help Portal

Steps which I followed:

  1. Select all of the table entries that you want to change.
  2. To change the field contents, choose Edit Change Field Contents The system displays a list of all of the function fields.
  3. Position the cursor on the required function field and choose Continue. A further screen is displayed where you have to enter the value of the field which should be used in all table entries.
  4. Enter the required value.
  5. Choose Replace. All selected table entries of the chosen field are replaced by the entered value. At this stage, your changes are stored in an internal buffer.
  6. Make sure you really want to change the field contents of all selected table entries. To do this, choose Selection All Changed Entries.
  7. Save you entries.

Is their any other to do this mass change activities, you input would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I tried exactly the same in a sandbox and it works just fine:

Make sure that you changed the correct field and that you selected the right entries.

You can also try with a smaller number of records at first (2-3) - just to see if this is somehow related to the problem, although I doubt that this is the case.

The alternative could be to create a batch input recording, but I think that it is really not worth it, considering that you only need a simple change in a single field.

Hi Veselina,

Thank you very much for providing feedback.

I tried carrying out this for a small (2) number of entries even then it didnt change the value from 0 to 1. Also I tried in multiple Sandbox & Development clients still I dint succeed. The thing is when ever I replace it gives a confirmation that the changes are saved in the TR, but when I go in and see it still remains with the old value.

I was testing this in S4 1809 & 1909 version systems, just wanted to know which version of system you are trying ?

Thanks!

I tried this in also in S/4HANA 1909. Just for the sake of comparison - I use SAPGUI 7.60, PL5 with Blue Crystal theme.

Out of curiosity - when you perform the mass field change and before you save the changes in a transport request - do you see that the production version field is set from 0 to 1 for the selected entries?

If yes, then the problem is probably with saving or displaying the changes in the transport request and not with the mass change feature.

This is important, because if the problem is with the actual saving of changes, then workarounds like batch input will probably not help you either.

After you press save and you apply the changes in the transport request - what do you see in SE16 for T399X for PVSEL? Also, if you try to change a single entry manually by just entering 1 in production version field and save - can you see the changes when you navigate back to the customizing? If yes, then at least you will know that batch input is still a viable option if you cannot manage to solve the issue with field change functionality.

By the way, I have encountered a weird problem a few times with customizing changes (no idea what caused it, it seemed random), but even after I made some changes and saved them in a transport request, when I navigated back to them - it was as if I have not changed anything at all. After I exit all sessions and log on again - all seemed correct and I could see the changes (I know, it makes no sense).
