One question about Material Ledger Data

Hi all

My company has a HALB Material whose material master data has been created but the BOM not assigned.As a result the cost estimation cant be executed.And further

more,during one period no production and material movement at all.However, after the period end,in the material ledger display(CKM3),it has a moving average price of ￥322.5,and this MAP is also displayed in the Material Master.

How comes of this result?

Can anybody help me?

The price control indicator is changed from S to V at the time of material ledger close.

The MAP or PUP field is updated at the time of running single/multi level price differences.

Moving average need not arise out of the movements only. Since you are saving it is HALB they would have released standard cost estimate for this material during some time, hence it would have updated standard cost estimate, based on the costing run in the material ledger it would have also updated the moving average price based on the standard cost estimate.

But I did not do a cost estimatio towards this material.

And there is no transaction on this material at all.

So i cant understand how comes the moving average price arised?

Yonggiang,

It may be from someone copying another material. We have setup template materials for individuals to use as copy from materials, but if they forget and use and actual material having a calculated moving average price from a prior month, this information is copied as well. That might be you source for the moving average price on a new material. Just a guess.
