How can we maintain one material in two company codes?

Hi Gopala,

We will be maintaining the Materila master to a particular Plant Level and Sales Organisation and Distribution channel.any way the Plant will be assinged to the Company code.

In this Thread. Scenario Like Inter Company Stock Transfer one Material should be maintained both the Plants for which will be having Two Different Company Codes.

Process to Extend Material Master:

Go to T.Code: MM01 --> Enter Material Code in Material & Reference Material & Enter --> Select the Views to be extended & select the appropriate Organizational units from & to --> Enter --> By default most of the fields will be populated based on original Material Master, however few will not be copied by default, so maintain the same --> Enter --> Save.

Hi Gopala,

actually the need for maintaining same material in different company codes is that the customer places a order to com code A and he is a royal customer and the company A has no stock at that point of time, then the company A will have to make a request to transfer the stock from company B .

This will be occured in Intercompany Billing.

You require to create material in one company code & extend the same in another company code.

Hi,

Material is maintain at plant level and u can assign Material to any no of company code just by assigning the material to the plant of that company code.

Its better to say u r assigning a material to plant of different company code.
